From London to New York. Don’t Forget Your ESTA (Sponsored)

From London to New York. Don't Forget Your ESTA

I love London. It is my favourite place in the whole world. That’s a good thing considering this blog is dedicated to it, right?  One question I get asked a lot is ‘Apart from London, where is your favourite place to travel to in the world?’ The answer to that questions explodes off my tongue like lighting. I don’t even have to think about it. I don’t have to question it. Apart from London, my favourite place to travel to in the world is New York.

From London to New York. Don't Forget Your ESTA!

I’ve been to a few other places in the USA as well as New York. I spent some time in San Diego and have been to Disney world in Florida multiple times with my family. Unlike the UK, to travel to New York or other states in the USA you need a VISA (or an ESTA as the US version is called). An ESTA is an abbreviation and stands for Electronic System for Travel Authorization. An ESTA Application is a mandatory digital travel authorisation document that determines the eligibility of visitors to travel to the United States. It is especially important that you get your ESTA if your planning on visiting New York or anywhere in the USA in the future. In the event you don’t have an ESTA your entry into the USA could be denied.  Before buying your ESTA it’s important you check the requirements of the ESTA. For example, if you are going on holiday, visiting business clients or undergoing medical treatment these DO meet the requirements. However, if you’re starting work or education in the US the DO NOT meet the requirements of an ESTA. It’s best that you do your ESTA as soon as possible after you’ve booked your trip, especially if your trip is quite a while away you don’t want it to slip your mind.

I’ve been to New York four times in the last ten years. Next to London, it felt like my second home. When I got there, I just felt like I’d lived there all my life. There are so many things I love about New York. The wide streets, the tall buildings, the insane taxi drivers. Also, you can’t forget Broadway! I mean, you can’t go to New York without seeing a Broadway show, can you? When I’m not at the theatre or admiring the architecture of the city you’ll find me scoping out the New York food scene. It’s the thing I love about New York the MOST. New York has some of the best food I’ve ever tried in my life. If you check out the NOTSOBASICTRAVEL section of my website, you’ll see I did a whole blog post dedicated to some of the best eats in New York. I love the food so much in this city that I base entire days out focused on the food spots I want to try. Food comes first, landmarks come second. On NOTSOBASICLONDON, I’ve also shared with you my foolproof method of planning my trip, so you make the most out of every day. Make sure you check out method here.

We all need something to look forward to right now in the current climate. Would you agree? I know that when we are able to travel again freely New York will be on top of my list again. Very closely followed by Disney World, Florida. Yes, I am 32 but Disney is ageless, right? Is New York somewhere you also love? Or have you never been and are dying to go because my foodie blog post has inspired you? Is there anywhere else in the USA that’s on your bucket list? Wherever you’re planning on going make sure you check E-Visa for easy visa application.
