Not many places do it anymore, but when you order a sandwich and it comes with a handful of crisps, angels sing at the thought being able to stuff them inside and make your very own crisp sandwich.
One of the easiest and tastiest things on earth.
The Albert Deli is a little cafe a short walk from Richmond Station that does lovely cakes, bread, salads and epic TRIPLE DECKER TOASTED CLUB SANDWICHES! A really nice place to stop for a weekend bite.
Okay, this isn’t your average builder’s cafe for a quick sarnie.
It’s pretty, quaint, and very Richmond! There is plenty to choose from and officially they don’t call them ‘crisp sandwiches’ on the menu but hey, who cares. They are.
3 layers of toasted bread stuffed absolutely full with a filling of your choice and a load of crisps to go with.
The veggie club is 3 layers of peppers, leaves, artichoke, hummus and olives.
… and the Californian club – warm chicken, bacon, lettuce, avocado and tomato.
You think when it comes you’ll never eat all that but somehow you manage it!
If you’re looking for something to do one weekend and the weather is good (UK should be so lucky) have a good walk around Richmond Park, look in a few shops and walk up to here for some lunch, a cake or a cuppa.
Maybe see you there one weekend.
