The most satisfying 20 inches you’ll ever have in your life. What a sentence to start with eh!
Well, get your mind out of the gutter cos’ we’re not talking about that, we’re talking about pizza! One of London’s best-loved and biggest pizzas – Homeslice!
Homeslice started in Covent Garden back in 2013, and since then have made a name for themselves with their sizeable pies and usual toppings.
Their concept is simple with a food menu made up solely of 20-inch pizzas for £20 (Yes, that’s pretty big!) or £4 for a not so small slice. Plus a drinks menu with wine priced by the centimetre and cocktails strong enough to blow your socks off.
Rest assured this is no fine dining, fancy establishment and this atmosphere suits them down to the ground.
It’s got a great casual and social vibe, where each pizza comes with a cutter for you to do yourself, food is served on paper plates and there are no knives and forks.
Oh and you may or may not be squeezed next to a stranger (Hopefully a good looking one)
What makes them stand out from the crowd is that their toppings are not your usual pepperoni or a controversial Hawaiian (Love a Hawaiian by the way)
Unusual, interesting and unique combinations of things you’d never think work on a pizza. (They do … just FYI!) and you can choose to go full on or half and half.
Things like beef brisket with carrot or a white base with aubergine and harrisa.
A personal favorite of mine (…and what seems like everyone else from reviews) is the ricotta, pumpkin seeds, and mushroom. With truffle oil and balsamic glaze.
All about the sweet and savory.
So, the big question is how many people does one pizza serve? Here’s an idea…
One person – ravenous haven’t eaten in a week.
Two people – hungry up for a challenge.
Three people – If you don’t want to overstuff yourself.
Four people – Just a snack. You will need another 😉
Some people say pizza is just pizza but Homeslice has tried to take the humble pie and make it their own. Successfully I might add. They’ve made it ginormous, whacked on some funky toppings and served it with beer, cocktails, and wine. What’s not to love?
It’s effortlessly cool and casual, and rest assured your not going to be leaving hungry. A great choice when in London and with three location in Central London, East London and The City your never far away from one!
