Did you know there are approximately 3000 parks and green spaces in London? Isn’t that INSANE! When the weather is good there’s nothing better than exploring the many parks London has to offer. You can hire a pedelo in Hyde Park, feed the ducks in St James Park or see the deer in Richmond park. You could also grab your favourite book to read or round up your mates for a nice picnic. There are endless ways to explore London’s parks and green spaces. Check them all out here.
Most of us know about the most famous sights of London such as The London Eye, Big Ben and The Tower of London. After 10 years in London I still love visiting those places and I still suggest them to visitors who want a classic London experience . However, London is so much more than its famous sights. The city holds tons of secrets and each street you walk down there is always something new and bit unusual to discover. Roof Top Cinema host fun movie evenings that take place on top of some of London’s best rooftop venues. Over looking the city skyline and beneath the starry stars, you can snuggle up and enjoy iconic films such as Dirty Dancing, Pulp Fiction and Grease. A really cool and unique way to spend an evening this summer.
Want to do things a little differently this summer? How about instead of choosing your bog standard dinner destination why not eat aboard a floating restaurant? When the warmer, sunnier months finally arrive in the UK, we Londoners can’t resist an outdoor or rooftop bar. London is very walkable and when the weather is nice its the perfect time to explore the city by foot. Every summer, Regent’s Park theatre puts on a spectacular theatre production in their open air theatre. The venue is tucked away in Regent’s Park and is one of London’s best kept secrets. If you love the theatre, it’s a really unique experience to enjoy some top productions beneath the twinkling stars of the city skies. The season is only from June – September and tickets sell really fast so be quick if you want to secure your seat.
I love London for all its weirdness and quirkiness. I mean, there aren’t many places where you can hire a floating hot tub. Skuna Boats are London’s floating hot tub company. This summer you can round up a bunch of mates, get your swimming trunks on and sail around Canary Wharf in your very own hot tub. They also do BBQ boats for you all adventurous foodies out there too.
Hot days are the best excuse to eat copious amounts of ice-cream. Gelupo is a little gelato shop hidden in the backstreets of Soho that has to be on your list this summer. They create beautiful seasonal flavours of gelato such as sour ricotta cherry, tiramisu and strawberry and pink peppercorn. They have also been known to do more unusual flavours such a blue cheese and walnut or white truffle. A great choice to indulge this summer.
What better way to experience London then via its iconic waterways and there are many boat adventures you can do here in the city, to get your own boat just visit Zeboats. You can do something more touristy like a sightseeing cruise past London’s most iconic sights, ride a barge down London’s picturesque canals or even ride a speed boat down the Thames.
