Camden Market food scene is pretty epic.
Just near the canal, KERB hosts a load of street food vendors including steaming bowls of mac and cheese from the Mac Factory, to Ice-cream sandwiches from Blu Top. A place where you grab a plastic fork, a napkin and squeeze your bum onto a spare bit of pavement to chow down. DEFINITELY worth a visit.
However, sometimes you might be after somewhere you can have a proper (but still casual) sit down and something to eat.
Cafe Loren is where it’s at.
They specialise in an entire menu based on shakshuka (pronounced SHAK-SHOO-KA) ; A middle eastern dish eaten for breakfast, lunch or dinner.
Sounds fancy but is really not. Pretty simple really but really bloody good!
We’re talking runny eggs, baked in a tomato/onion sauce, topped with huge chunks of feta and served with hummus and soft, homemade bread for dunking….
All made fresh right in front of you.
… and while that looks and tastes amazing, for all the healthy eaters out there this is one dish that is actually pretty healthy. They even have the calories on the menu (nothing over 600!)
They have 10 flavours to choose from as well as a range of coffee’s and teas (ask for fresh mint, not peppermint, still nice but it comes with actual mint leaves).
Portions are substantial and you won’t leaving hungry for sure.
Whether you’re vegan, veggie, or none of the above … torn between breakfast, lunch and dinner then you can’t go far wrong with Cafe Loren.
