Burnt Toast is lovely cafe right in the centre of Brixton Village that does a GREAT all day breakfast.
They’re a small, alfresco cafe with a small menu doing some great breakfast classics – sweet to savoury and healthy to not so healthy.
We’re talking a casual, trendy cafe, with proper mugs of tea and not a fancy teapot in sight.
Everyone loves a gimmick and theirs is a pretty good one.
Toasters are dotted around the place and the menu has an option to burn your own toast and top it with whatever you fancy.
EVERYONE does eggs benedict and eggs florentine in London but these guys do it on sweet brioche rather than regular toast.
Sounds weird but the sweet bread with the creamy hollandaise and salty bacon is an awesome combo.
… and a portion of buttermilk pancakes soaked in syrup are a must to share.
They get pretty busy at the weekend, especially around 11 am so be aware you may have to queue for a little while. It does go down really quickly, though.
If your thinking of where to go for breakfast on the weekend try Burnt Toast Cafe and get the brioche eggs benedict with a side of bacon. Pancakes to share too!
Then take a walk around the rest of the village and see where you can put on your list for next time.
