If there was one app on this list to download immediately it would be Citymapper. Citymapper is your London transport bible. Put in your start and end destination and it will give you tons of suggestions of routes to take using lots of different methods of London transport. It also tells you the price of each journey, the duration, plus, it will re-map you if there are issues or engineering works. All in a super friendly, easy to use way.
Lots of restaurants in London don’t do reservations as they are so popular. WalkUp allows you to join a restaurant queue remotely from your phone without going to the restaurant. It gives you queue times and tells you what number you are in the queue. You don’t have to stay outside queuing in the rain and instead you get notified when your table is ready. To use WalkUp you do have to be in the vicinity of the restaurant to join the queue but that means you can be in the pub next door or down the road having a drink while you wait.
Even though London is very multicultural, if you don’t speak English, you will want to download Google Translate. GoogleTranslate will help you translate anything to your own language or vice versa.

It’s particularly good for those with disabilities as it shows you the best door position for exit at every station, stairs, toilets as well as unique 3D Maps showing you the facilities and layout of ALL 270 Tube stations. It was co-created by Geoff Marshall, a two-times Guinness World Record Holder for travelling to all Tube stations in the fastest time possible.

You can hire a cycle using the computer at each docking terminal or you can download the app for quick access to your bike through your account.. The app also allows you to see real time cycle availability so you know which docking station will be best to head to. Hiring a Santander Cycle costs £2 for unlimited journeys up to 30 minutes. Anything longer than 30 minutes will be £2 for each additional 30 minutes.
