You know the French restaurant Patron from this post?
Well, just two doors down from their fantastic restaurant, you’ll find their other French creation in the form of their French deli; Solely dedicated to all things cheese, meat and wine.
So, if you’re a fan of any of those three things (why wouldn’t you be), then you need to keep reading.
The Patron cheese and wine deli is like a tiny corner of France picked up and put in North London. Much like the restaurant.
It’s cosy, rustic and full of French charm…
… and seating just 14 people means it feels very intimate and even a bit exclusive!
The wine has gone very high tech at Patron and probably the biggest draw to this place (as well as the amazing food) is that they have their very own oyster card wine machine!!
You top it up, stick it in, choose your wine and out it comes like an adult vending machine.
Not only can you get your standard small and medium glass, but they even do a tiny taster amount so you can try before you buy.
… and once you’ve chosen your wine, it’s all about the food.
You may notice the menu on the website doesn’t have prices on which is usually a sign of ‘I can’t afford to be here’.
Luckily, Patron is different and everything is done by weight.
You tell the waiter what your budget is, what type of cheese or meat you like, and out comes your own personal board….
We’re talking everything any cheese and meat lover could ever want.
Creamy comte to strong blue…
…Salami slices to chunks of duck pate.
…and a whole lot of truffle inspired items like the truffle honey (amazing drizzled on cheese).
…or the truffle butter (spread generously on fresh bread)
There are not many places in London like the Patron deli.
Usually, if you’re looking for somewhere decent for an evening filled with cheese and wine, it’s a big restaurant with one cheese board and not much else to choose from.
Here you’ve got a personalised service of 30 different kinds of cheese, meats, and deli items. Not to mention a massive wine list.
If you’re looking for a quiet place to catch up with a friend, boyfriend, or even head down with a book on a Thursday evening by yourself for a glass of wine and snack then why the hell not.
Do it. This is a great choice.
