Over the last few years, Tooting in South London has really come into its own.
Enter Belpassi Bros.
A family run Italian restaurant dedicated to the love of all things meatballs and pasta.
Belpassi was opened by twin brothers Livio and Lorenz back in 2016. (How great are those names, by the way?) They’ve spent 3 years perfecting the ultimate meatball recipe and taking their truck all around London’s markets changing people lives with their balls.
Meatballs that is.
Their ethos is fresh, homemade food that’s never frozen, authentically Italian, and has food coma written all over it.
Now, it’s us lucky Londoners who get to experience them permanently.
Order a beer, the entire menu, and dig in!
The concept at Belpassi is simple…
1. You choose your balls (no laughing) – beef, pork, lamb or veggie.
2. You choose your sauce – Amatriciana, San Marzano or Pesto.
3. Then choose your base – pasta, greens or polenta.
They don’t skimp on size, they don’t skimp on cheese and definitely don’t skimp on flavour!
Take a look at this…
Go carb heavy with their signature beef and lamb with rigatoni…
Healthier with greens (… compensating with EXTRA cheese!)
Sides of these polenta parmesan fries with house made garlic aioli…
…and if you haven’t tried them before you MUST get them.
… and what I’ve been keeping a secret until now is their sub. Their UNREAL meatball sub.
Sweet brioche, rich tomato sauce, strong aioli and enough cheese to overload your calcium intake for the next week.
How you eat it I’ll leave that up to you…
… and because you haven’t had enough calories their Tiramisu will send you into a creamy, coffee included sleep.
Belpassi is a local gem that is usually few and far between to come by. A family passion which resonates in all of their food.
We’re talking big, hearty portions of top quality and affordable food. Nothing on that menu over a tenner and nothing comes not fresh, not tasty and bathed in cheese. What a place!
While everything is top notch (including that tiramisu) the meatball sub is the game changer and whats for certain is, you’ll never look at a sandwich the same way again.
Sorry ham and cheese, Belpassi is the dogs b*llocks … or should I say balls?
P.S This is one of the bros!
